Blender Care: Sharp Blades, Fresh Jars and a Motor That Lasts

Most blenders die young from two causes: dried-on residue seizing the blade shaft, and overloaded motors. Both are entirely avoidable.

The 60-second clean

Right after pouring your shake, half-fill the jar with warm water and a drop of dish soap, pulse for twenty seconds, rinse. The blade assembly cleans itself — no risky finger-scrubbing around the blades.

Motor rules

• Cut fruit small; add liquid first for thick shakes.
• Run in 30–40 second bursts, not marathon minutes.
