The 12V Solar Fan: Off-Grid Cooling for Shops, Dhabas and Village Homes

Kingway | March 1, 2026 | 1 min read | Solar & Backup Power

For a roadside shop, a tube-well room or a village baithak, the simplest cooling system in the world is a panel, a wire and a 12V fan — no inverter, no installation, no bill.

Why 12V DC works

A fan like the Sogo 18-Inch 12V DC Solar Pedestal Fan (Rechargeable, AC/DC/Solar) draws only ~36W, so a single 40–60W panel runs it all day in direct sun, and any 12V battery carries it through the evening. The included adapter also runs it from a wall socket when the grid is up.

Setup in one paragraph

Point the panel south at roughly your latitude angle, connect the battery through a basic charge controller, clip on the fan. That is the whole system — and it scales: add a panel from our Solar Plates range and a second fan for bigger spaces.
