Review: RAF R.8045 Infrared Cooker — 3500W of Flame-Free Cooking
Induction cookers are efficient but fussy about cookware. The RAF Multifunction Infrared Cooker & Hot Plate R.8045 (3500W) takes a different route: infrared heat that works with any pot — steel, aluminium, glass, even clay handis.
In the kitchen
The 3500W element boils a litre of water in a few minutes and sears like a strong gas flame. The rotary control sweeps smoothly from a gentle simmer for daal to full heat for frying. The micro-crystal plate wiped clean with one cloth pass after a milk boil-over.
Where it fits
Perfect as a gas-outage backup, a hostel cooker or a second burner on Eid morning. It draws serious wattage at full power, so run it on a direct socket rather than an extension lead.
Verdict
At this price it is the easiest kitchen upgrade we have tested this year. More options in Cooktops.
